Taste By Appointment – Grey Goose vodka.
This morning on ‘Sunday Brunch’, Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer were treated to a few taste experiments modeled on those used by Grey Goose Vodka.
Grey Goose Vodka is currently touring the most prestigious drinking establishments in the country with their ‘Taste by Appointment’ event. Each event guarantees to teach the attendees all about their personal taste, how our taste is affected by our senses and make introductions to some of the countries most influential tastemakers through a series of talks, tastings and experiments.
The experiments featured on ‘Sunday Brunch’ were very interesting and revealing. For example, both Lovejoy and Rimmer had to sniff a doily whilst eating a meringue. Both stated that they could taste a slight bitterness but the overall flavour was vanilla. It was revealed that each miniature meringue was, in fact, extremely bitter having been made with a lemon an a half however, as the doily was scented with vanilla, that is all most humans can taste.
I should think that these events will sell out very soon and will no doubt be extremely interesting and make an enjoyable evening for any foodie. Although they are £75 per person, I think this is money well spent considering the reputation of some of the hosting establishments and that each event is three hours long.
