When researching chocolate week, I came across the news that British chocolatier and cocoa producer, Hotel Chocolat, is opening two restaurants in the UK; one in the foodie haven of Borough Market where there is already a successful store, and the other in the Northern city of Leeds. The first restaurant is due to open next month, just before the Christmas rush.
Both UK restaurants will be loosely based on the brands very successful first restaurant in St Lucia, the Boucan Restaurant ,which launched in 2011. The London premises will also contain a bar serving up velvety chocolate martinis alongside melt in the mouth dishes such as beef carapaccio infused with roasted cocoa and guinea fowl with aubergine and cacao. The menus have been thoughtfully created by Cacao Cuisine Development Chef, Jon Bentham who has been named one of ‘the unsung heroes of British coking’.
I love the quality that comes with the Hotel Chocolat brand and I think that these latest additions to the company will be a resound success; definitely worth a visit when visiting the big smoke
